COMMISSIONS PORTFOLIO
When finding an existing piece of art to compliment your space won't do, we are happy to guide you through through the process of commissioning a site specific piece.
We have contact with hundreds of artists and craftsmen, ensuring that you have options when choosing the perfect piece for your space.
We have worked with numerous clients on commission projects, some of which are represented below. We are always happy to provide references.

CONCORD HOSPITAL Kathy Hanson - Rainforest Mural
We worked with Concord Hospital to find an appealing and appropriate solution for their new Emergency Department. It was important to create a children's area within the waiting room without giving the entire space a juvenile feel.
Our solution was to commission a wall mural for the children's area that would be of interest to both children and adults. Kathy Hanson successfully designed and created a clay mural of the Rainforest that did just that.
With its bright colors, hidden creatures, and interesting details, this mural is engaging and exciting for children. It is vibrant and lively in the children's area, while still fiting into the waiting room as a whole.

MAINE MEDICAL CENTER Michael Kraatz - Hanging Glass Installation
When looking for a substantial piece of art for their lobby, Maine Medical Center had several challenges to work with.
The multi-level lobby would be viewed from several floors, requiring something that could fill a large space and be equally interesting from a variety of angles. Also important to consider was the orientation of the building, since the lobby would receive full sun for most of the day.
Our solution was to commission a glass installation that would hang in the space, filling it without feeling crowded.
Michael Kraatz created three groupings made of cast glass and copper, which read well from all heights and would not fade over time. The piece is lively without being too busy, and catches the sunlight, changing the way the lobby feels as the light changes throughout the day.

PUBLIC SERVICE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE Gary Haven Smith - Gate Valve Sculpture
When building their corporate headquarters, PSNH wanted to perserve and showcase the history of their company.
Rather than create a new sculpture to accomplish this goal, Gary Haven Smith worked with PSNH engineers and workers to assess artifacts from old structures and create a sculpture from an old gate valve and other equipment.
This collaboration produced not only an interesting sculpture, but also a way for both the employees and public to connect with PSNH's history.
Anne Marie Kenny - Industrial Quilt Series
For the main entrance lobby, we commissioned Anne Marie Kenny to create a variation on her Industrial Quilts, using artifacts from PSNH as the primary focus of each piece.
The 8 part series fills an important wall in the lobby, and serves as a teaching tool for the many school groups that visit. It is a conversation piece anda point of interest for the many visitors to the company.

PORTER HOSPITAL Elinore Steele - Hands Tapestry
For the birthing center at Porter Hospital, we wanted a large-scale piece of art that encompassed ideas of family and caring.
We commissioned Elinore Steele to create a tapestry around the theme of hands. With its warm colors and use of both images and text, the tapestry sucessfully captures the important concepts in a soft and appropriate way.

CONCORD HOSPITAL Gary Haven Smith - Fountain
When Concord Hospital was completing the Payson Center for Cancer Care, they knew the main lobby needed a significant piece of art that would reflect the healing atmosphere.
We commissioned Gary Haven Smith to create a fountain, which would add both visually and audibly to the space. In order to best enhance the space, without impeding traffice, he nestled the fountain beneath the large curve of the stairway.
The soft light and water sounds are an unobtrusive welcome, serving as a soothing background.
