Division Pieces 2009-2010
"This is a series of wall relief and free standing objects, made from blocks of laminated MDF, adorned with inscribed configurations, that literally draw from earlier "Division" paintings. The impetus, aside from an interest in other media, was a growing curiosity as to the nature of painted or drawn images that engage the viewer by physical projection and 3 dimensional assertions. Painted relief allows for unique spatial comprehension and suggests a real, rather than illusory presentment. In addition, these pieces seem to stir memories of important monuments to daily life. "
