Born 14 July 1927, Concord, New Hampshire, U. S. A. Immigrated to Canada in 1961 and became a Canadian citizen in 1978.

1945 to 1947 - U. S. Navy, Yeoman 3/c, Honorably discharged 1947.
1947-1948 - Holderness School, Plymouth, New Hampshire, U. S. A. (Refresher courses before attending university).
1948 to 1952 - B.F.A. (Art Education), Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York, U.S.A. Graduated Magna Cum Laude. Studied pottery with Ruth H. Randall
1951 - Summer session, University of New Hampshire, Durham, New Hampshire, U. S. A. Studied pottery with Edwin Scheier and wood engraving with Herbert O. Waters.
1952 to 1954 - M.F.A. (Ceramics), Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S.A. Studied pottery with Katherine P. Choy.
